Brad D. Smith commits to Almost Heaven Classic panel discussion

As the Almost Heaven Classic nears, we're excited to reveal some of the Wild & Wonderful West Virginians attending our flagship gathering!

We're eager to announce Marshall University President Brad D. Smith will join the AHC's networking panel discussion on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at the Canaan Valley Resort in Davis, West Virginia.

“I’m honored to be a part of the Almost Heaven Classic,” Pres. Smith said. “Anything that elevates the opportunities and potential of this incredible state, I, and my fellow West Virginians, support. I’m looking forward to connecting with all who attend and having some important conversations to continue to propel West Virginia forward.”

Pres. Smith is one of the most notable West Virginians in the world and is guiding the Mountain State into a prosperous future.

While he's well-known for his role as CEO at Intuit, the Mountain State native's latest work has been tied to academia and philanthropy. On top of his duties at Marshall, he's also the Co-Founder of the Wing 2 Wing Foundation, which is committed to advancing entrepreneurial interest throughout Appalachia.

But here's our favorite nugget; he's also a previous guest on our podcast!

C.J. Harvey and Cooper Simmerman, hosts of the Mountaineer Media Podcast, will lead the live panel discussion with Pres. Smith, and potentially others, about the future of West Virginia and why our leaders believe the Mountain State is ready to thrive.

“President Smith represents the very best West Virginia has to offer,” Harvey said. “He’s humble, genuine, highly intelligent and determined to lead the Mountain State in the right direction. Thank you to Pres. Smith and his team for committing to the Almost Heaven Classic and spreading the news that it’s time for West Virginia to shine.”

“It will be such an honor to sit on stage with President Smith next summer in Canaan Valley,” Simmerman added. “His work throughout the state has been inspiring to watch and has encouraged all of us to dream big in Almost Heaven.”

The panel will be live streamed on our channels, but if you'd like to attend the event in person tickets are available right now here.

The Almost Heaven Classic will be presented by Star USA Federal Credit Union. Learn more about West Virginia’s trusted credit union here.
